Welcome to QuestMates. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This privacy policy will inform you about how we look after your personal data when you visit our website or use our app and tell you about your privacy rights and how the law protects you.

Data Collection

• We collect your name, email, profile picture, and post photos to enable app functionality only. Data is not used for tracking, advertising, or any third party usage.
• For example, Quest content and dates are collected to display tasks and send reminders.
• The photo library is ONLY accessed when the user CHOOSES to upload a profile picture. We do not access the photo library without user consent and we only access it for updating the profile picture.
• Contact information is used to allow users to share the app link with their contacts. The data is not used for any other purpose and is provided to us only after the user gives permission.

Data Usage

• Your profile picture is displayed on your profile and posts.
• Email may be used to send updates, news, and special offers (if available).
• Quest content and dates are used to remind you and show tasks within circles or posts.

Data Sharing

• We do not share your data with third parties for marketing or other purposes.
• Photos are securely stored in an AWS S3 bucket solely for media storage and retrieval within QuestMates.

Data Protection

• We have put in place appropriate security measures to prevent your personal data from being accidentally lost, used or accessed in an unauthorized way, altered or disclosed.
• We use secure servers, access controls, and JWT tokens to protect your data.

Ads

• We use Google AdMob for ads. AdMob will not track you for personalised ads, but it will collect some data as per their privacy policy.

User Rights

• You can update your username, password, bio, and profile picture in the Profile screen.
• To access or delete your data, use the 'Delete Account' button or contact support.
• Under certain circumstances, you have rights under data protection laws in relation to your personal data, including the right to request access, correction, erasure, restriction, transfer, or to object to processing.

Data Retention

• All data is deleted immediately upon account termination via the 'Delete Account' button.
• Inactive accounts may be terminated by QuestMates, with all data deleted thereafter.

Changes to Privacy Policy

• We may update this Privacy Policy, notifying you via the app or email.
